Daniel Messina is an exellent argentinean drummer and composer. He lives in Germany and has been working for many years with the great organist Barbara Dennerlein. Some time ago we started to give some concerts in duo with the idea to make a CD some time. Daniel and I have a similar way to work using rythms and melodies from our country with freedom, so in 2000 we did a recording in his house for our CD “Prioridad a la Emoción” with some guests like: Peter Lehel, Gustavo Batistessa and Felix Stricker (Art-Mode-Records)

Helena Ruegg, Bandoneon
Quique Sinesi, Guitars.

This is a project with the bandoneonist Helena Ruegg: We started in 1997, the music is oriented towards Tango (Milonga, Vals), starting with traditional composers like: Julian Plaza, Villoldo, Troilo, Mariano Mores and reaching to modern composers like Piazzolla, Salgan and some of our own compositions. Helena has made deep studies about tango writing a book about this music.

Carlos Aguirre is to me the most outstanding folclore pianist in Argentina today, he is a great composer and arranger, he is unique in Argentina for his capacity to give life to several creative musical projects. Some years ago we started to play in duo with a sonority more close to the Argentinean folclore and the music of “Rio de la Plata” (Milonga-Candombe).

Matias and I met when we were still very young. Since then we have made music toguether. We met Horacio around the year 1979. In 1982 we joined the Dino Saluzzi Quartet playing with him in very important Jazz Festivals like Berlin, Zurich, Koln etc.

I met Markus some years ago in Köln when I went to hear one of his concerts when the leitmotiv was the improvisation. I felt attracted to his concept and the meditative energy in this concert. Some time later I invited him to record in my CD “Color Cielo” in a tune that I have composed for him.

We have made some concerts and I felt an unique experience and total musical freedom.

This is a project with 2 excellent musicians from Chile:

Pablo Paredes (piano) and Sergio Teran (Piano, Guitars, Charango, Ethnic Winds, Sax, Voice).

We play mostly our own compositions based in Latinoamerican Folclore
with elements of Jazz and World Music.

In the year 2000 we recorded our CD produced by Goetz Burki “ViajeLatinoamericano“.

This is a very flexible project where I like to play with different musicians in different combinations: Trio, Quartet, Quintet. Playing mostly my own compositions, etno, tango, jazz, world music.

Some of the musicians I use to play and record with are:
Erling Kroner (Trombone), Daniel Topo Gioia (Percussion), Sergio Terán(Etnic Winds), Arnulf Ballhorn and Winnie (Double Bass), Helena Ruegg, Water Castro, Gustavo Battistessa , Gabriel Rivano(Bandoneón).

In 1990 Pablo invited me to play in his New Tango Quartet together with Horacio Lopez and Oscar Giunta making several tours out of Argentina.
Some years ago Pablo proposed to join in duo with him. Later we invited a special guest: the great bandoneonist Walter Castro. Since 2000 we did several tours in Europe. Our CD “Bajo Zero” won the Latin Grammy in 2005.

Quique Sinesi and Marcelo MoguilevskyMoguilevsky is an outstanding musician from the Argentinian scene
His instruments are flutes, clarinet, saxes, harmonica and voice.
Around the year 1984 we did share some concerts with bandoneonist Dino Saluzzi in Argentina, we met again 10 years later in a concert of improvisation with other musicians.
Since then we have played together, first in a free form, then we started playing our own compositions.

Charlie Mariano plays saxes and flutes.

This project was born in 1991. I met Charlie Mariano personally in a recording of the group “Matukana”. I admired him an knew his music and way of playing. Some time later I invited him to record in my CD “Color Cielo” (Genuit Music), then we started to give some concerts in duo. In July 2000 we played in Berlin Passionskirche and some months later Charlie invited me to make a CD in duo with him: “Tango para Charlie” - (Enja Records).
